A Check Instead of a Bill?!

Any solar consulting expert can point out the advantages of a solar power, or photovoltaic, system. These systems are a clean source of energy that leave no emissions and need very little maintenance. They have no moving parts so nothing can break. They can be easily installed on rooftops or other out of the way locations so they don’t eat up much of your property. And they are a great conversation starter and personal statement that you support mother earth.

However, there is something that a specific solar power hook up can give you that few people have heard of and few believe. Did you know, that if you have a solar power system installed in your home or business and it generates more power than you use, you can actually get a check from the power company?! Ridiculous? No, this is fact and you could see it yourself.

A photovoltaic system known as a grid tied system connects your solar power system to the city’s normal power distribution system instead of a power storage battery where the power could be released at night or other periods where your energy usage surpassed your power generation. In this system, however, when your power generation surpasses your use the power goes back into the grid, turning your dial back. In fact, you are selling your solar power to the power company and they are using it to feed the demands of the rest of the community!

So, during a hot clear summer month you might just make enough power to have the local supplier send you a check for your contribution, rather than bill you for what you took. And the best part is that in this system you will never have a power interruption. During the day you run on solar, and when you need it you can run on public power with no worries at all.
